Lake Murray Salkehatchie

Our Mission

Provide a God Centered work experience for youth and adults where their spiritual
journey will take them to a deeper relationship with God as they reach out to families
in need of a safe, warm, and dry home.

Lake Murray Salkehatchie successfully completed its first year of ministry in the Irmo/Chapin/Columbia area July 23-30, 2011!  There were 5 home sites this year that received new roofs, ceilings, stable flooring, secure doors, plumbing, wheelchair ramp, and so much more.  Many lives were transformed as we became a family helping other families in need!

Union United Methodist Church provided housing for 60 campers.  Union members showed tremendous support of this ministry through financial donations, specific item donations, volunteers who delivered site snacks, meal preparation, transportation, hospitality kits, first aid kits, inspirational messages, worship through message and music, website, photography, and more!  

Other groups in the community supported Lake Murray Salkehatchie through financial donations and by preparing meals:  Riverland Hills Baptist, Caskey Family, Salem UMC, Chapin UMC, Brookland Baptist, and Catholic Friends.

God blessed our camp with willing workers, safety, and spirit-filled worship experiences!
We are already looking forward to Lake Murray Salkehatchie 2012!
